What it does

TIC-80 is a complete fantasy computer in the chat: a command line, a Lua code editor and editors for sprites, maps, sound effects and music, enough to make a small retro game from scratch. Type new lua and run to get a playable starter cartridge; a finished cartridge can be shared with the chat as a file. It is a tool for one person at a time; nothing is synced between players.

How to use it

  1. Type help in the console to see the commands
  2. Type new lua, then run, to start a fresh cartridge
  3. Press Esc and use F1–F5 for the code, sprite, map, sound and music editors
  4. Press Ctrl+R to run your game
